"My name is Anne Basden and I’m 49 years old. I was born and raised in Evansville Indiana. Grew up on the Westside. I moved away to attend Purdue University and then Boston University. I moved to Southern California briefly but then return to Evansville to be closer to my parents. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy for ProRehab and manage the Crosslake facility. I have a number of interests however my passion is for treating endurance athletes and promoting health and fitness in our community." **What motivates you to run/walk? I love how it makes me feel about myself. I’m not going to win any prize money doing this but I love feeling strong and healthy. **How many races have you participated in? 8 full, over 16 half 2 sprint triathlons and 1 70.3 **What age did you start running/walking for fun & competitively? I started 5K in my 20s but did not run more than 5 miles until I was 39 when I joined Team 13 **Favorite place to run/walk? My neighborhood….Alvord area **Favorite local race? YMCA half marathon **Favorite race outside of the Tri-State? Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC **Farthest you have traveled to do a race? Washington DC but planning on Spain **Favorite race distance? Half Marathon **Favorite race memory? I don’t think I have one favorite. I have so many great memories of racing with friends **Funniest race memory? Watching my running buddy stop and drink beer during my first full marathon. **Craziest thing you saw at or during a race? Watching a guy stand behind a tree and thinking he was out of sight…….then watching the race turn around the corner and he was in front of everyone. LOL Funny for us not so much for him. **Favorite pre & post-race meal/drink? I eat whole wheat pasta with butter and cheese night before races then after a race a cold beer and cheeseburger and fries hits the spot. **What is your favorite brand of running shoe? I’ve run in Mizuno Wave Inspires for years **How many miles do you run/walk a week? My mileage varies based on what I’m training for but minimal of 15 up to 30ish. Swim and bike too. **What are your future goals for running/walking? I plan to be running until I’m 80 something then might slow down. I want to run a few halves a year and 2 or so triathlons until I can’t. **Favorite time of day to run? Early Mornings **Favorite weather to run in? Love the Fall when its cool **Music or no music? Never got into the earbuds but I LOVE music at races to pump me up.
