Genevieve Perry is the Ultimate Fit Runner of the Month for April! She currently lives in Evansville, IN. She was born in Terre Haute, IN in 1937 and soon moved to Otwell, IN as her father was the school teacher there (He was also Ivy Tech's first teacher in Evansville when it opened). For those of you familiar with the Petersburg, IN area, Prides Creek was named after her family. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1955 and IU with a Teachers Degree in 1959. She taught grades 1st-3rd in Nashville, IN and Bloomington, IN before moving with her 2 children (Angela & Bradley) to Evansville. She also has 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Here is an excerpt from the nomination, "I first met Genevieve last year at the Vahalla 5K in Poseyville. I was so impressed with her determination and speed. Since I just started running three years ago at age 68 she was such an inspiration for me to keep running as I’m sure she is to many others. She also encourages and cheers everyone else on and makes you want to do your best. She is such a role model for those of us over 70. She is also a very sweet lady and I enjoy talking to her whenever we run a race in the Evansville area." A little more about Genevieve: **What motivated you to run?
